Engineering Olympics

On November 8th, WeMakeRI had the pleasure of running the Engineering Olympics at Toray Plastics America North Kingstown Rhode Island. We would like to thank Toray Plastics for hosting and help sponsor this wonderful event for high schools across Rhode Island. Teams from West Warwick High School, South Kingstown High School, Davies Career-Tech High School, and Burrillville High School competed in a series of challenges, using their knowledge of engineering principles to recreate some fascinating STEM projects! We would also like to thank the students and teachers who participated, and a Congratulations to our top placers South Kingstown High School!

What is a Team?
A team is defined as a maximum of 4 students and a maximum of 6- PLUS a coach.

  • every student must compete in at least one challenge
  • no student can compete in every challenge
  • some challenges may have size limits
  • teachers and coaches cannot compete, but they must remain present for the entire day

Your school may register two teams, but we will put the second team “On Hold” until November 5th. We’ll release “On Hold” teams after that date, in the order that they resigned until we reach the 20 team capacity.
